The death of our Friend and Brother Jakson Spires has been a terrible blow to us. Our most sincere thanks go out to all of you for the literally thousands of messages, emails and phone calls we have received. They have made all of us cry and laugh, and most importantly, they have helped us celebrate Jakson's life through all the wonderful stories that you have shared.

For those of you who knew Jakson intimately no explanations are needed, but for the fans and the well wishers who did not know the man, we thought we would go into a few details about the future of Blackfoot.

When we reformed late last year, being older and hopefully wiser than before, we spent many long hours planning the reunion. Part of those discussions focused around what each member wanted should they become sick or unable for any reason to continue to tour. Jak’s wishes were very clear, as were the wishes of all of the members: Blackfoot must continue. In each of our cases, specific details were put upon the table. There are a hundred personal reasons that we need not go into, but in keeping with Jak’s wishes, and with the support of the rest of the Blackfoot family, the band must go on... we have not canceled any engagements, nor do we intend to.

So, to all of Jak’s friends and fans: please come to the shows, introduce yourself. Have a beer for Jakson, That’s the way he would have wanted it.
